Team Up ("we", "us", "our") operates the Team Up Discord bots and the teamupgg.com website
(collectively, the "Service"). This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, store,
and protect information when you use our Service. By using Team Up, you consent to the
data practices described in this policy.
Team Up provides competitive gaming tools for Discord communities, including Elo rating systems,
matchmaking queues, leaderboards, hosted lobbies, and tournament management. We are committed
to collecting only the data necessary to provide these services.

Data We Collect
Team Up stores data in order to function. Team Up does NOT log or in any way store messages
that are not Team Up commands. We collect the following categories of data:
Discord Data
When you interact with our bot or an admin adds Team Up to a server, we collect:
- Discord Member IDs and Usernames
- Discord Guild (Server) IDs and Guild Names
- Channel IDs for channels created or managed by Team Up
- Role IDs for tier roles managed by Team Up
Gameplay and Rating Data
To power our competitive features, we store:
- Elo ratings and ranking scores
- Match history and results
- Win/loss records and statistics
- Leaderboard names and configurations
- Queue participation and matchmaking data
- Custom stats tracked by server admins
- Timestamps for matches, queue joins, and other events
Website Data
When you visit teamupgg.com, we collect standard web analytics data through
Google Analytics and Cloudflare Web Analytics:
- Pages visited and time spent on pages
- Referring website or source
- Browser type and device information
- Approximate geographic location (country/region level)
- Anonymized IP addresses
Payment Data
Premium subscriptions are processed through Stripe. We do not store credit card numbers
or payment details on our servers. Stripe handles all payment processing in accordance
with PCI-DSS standards. We only store subscription status and plan information.

How We Use Your Data
We use the data we collect to:
- Provide and maintain Elo ratings, leaderboards, and matchmaking services
- Display public leaderboard pages on teamupgg.com
- Process match results and calculate accurate rankings
- Manage matchmaking queues and team formation
- Assign and update Discord tier roles based on ratings
- Send webhook notifications for match results (when configured by admins)
- Process premium subscriptions and manage feature access
- Analyze website usage to improve our services
- Respond to support requests

Cookies and Tracking Technologies
Our website uses the following tracking technologies:
- Google Analytics: Used to understand how visitors interact with our website. Google Analytics uses cookies
to collect anonymized usage data. You can opt out by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
- Google AdSense: We display advertisements on some pages (such as blog posts and documentation)
through Google AdSense. Google and third-party vendors use cookies — including the
DoubleClick/DART cookie — to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other
websites. You can opt out of personalized advertising in your Google Ads Settings,
or read more about how Google uses cookies in advertising.
- Cloudflare Web Analytics: A privacy-first analytics tool that does not use cookies or track individual visitors.
It collects aggregated metrics only.
- Essential Cookies: Used for session management on the admin dashboard. These are necessary for the
service to function and cannot be disabled.

Data Sharing and Third Parties
We do not sell your personal data. We share data only with the following third-party
services that are essential to operating Team Up:
- Amazon Web Services (AWS): Our backend infrastructure, including database storage (DynamoDB), runs on AWS in the US-East-2 (Ohio) region.
- Cloudflare: Provides our website hosting, CDN, and worker infrastructure for processing Discord interactions.
- Discord: We interact with the Discord API to receive commands, send responses, and manage roles.
- Stripe: Processes premium subscription payments securely.
- Google Analytics: Collects anonymized website usage data.
- Google AdSense: Serves advertisements on some pages and may use cookies to personalize the ads shown.
Leaderboard data (player usernames, ratings, and match statistics) may be displayed publicly on
teamupgg.com if a server admin enables the public leaderboard feature. Server admins control
whether their community's leaderboard is publicly visible.

Data Retention
We retain your data for as long as the Discord server uses Team Up or until you request deletion.
Specifically:
- Player ratings, match history, and statistics are retained while the server actively uses Team Up
- When a server removes the Team Up bot, server admins can request full data deletion
- Individual players can request removal of their personal data at any time
- Website analytics data is retained according to Google Analytics and Cloudflare's standard retention policies
- Payment records are retained as required by applicable financial regulations

Data Security
We take reasonable measures to protect your data, including:
- All data in transit is encrypted using TLS/HTTPS
- Database access is restricted with IAM policies and API keys
- Discord interaction requests are verified using Ed25519 signature validation
- Admin dashboard access requires Discord OAuth authentication
- Payment processing is handled by PCI-DSS compliant Stripe
While we strive to protect your data, no method of electronic storage or transmission
is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security.

Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have the following rights regarding your personal data:
- Access: Request a copy of the data we hold about you
- Correction: Request correction of inaccurate data
- Deletion: Request deletion of your personal data
- Portability: Request your data in a machine-readable format

For EU/EEA residents (GDPR): We process your data based on legitimate interest to provide
the Service. You have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

request deletion of your data, and opt out of the sale of personal information. We do not sell
personal information.

Data Removal Process
Most of the data Team Up collects can be removed via Discord commands. Server admins
can delete leaderboards, reset player data, and remove match history directly through the bot.
For complete data removal or any data requests that cannot be handled through commands,
please reach out via the Team Up Discord support server or email support@teamupgg.com.
We will respond to data removal requests within 30 days.

Children's Privacy
Team Up is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information
from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal data,
please contact us and we will promptly delete it. Users must meet Discord's minimum age
requirement to use our Service.

Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify users of significant changes
through our Discord support server or by updating the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page.
Your continued use of Team Up after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
